The enzyme, characterized from Narcissus aff. pseudonarcissus (daffodil), forms the two enantiomers of the Amaryllidacea alkaloid noroxomaritidine by catalysing intramolecular oxidative para-para’ phenol coupling. The oxidation involves molecular oxygen without its incorporation into the product. |
