Geranyl diphosphate cannot be replaced by isopentenyl diphosphate, dimethylallyl diphosphate, farnesyl diphosphate or geranylgeranyl diphosphate as substrate [1]. Requires Mg2+?or Mn2+?for activity. Unlike many other monoterpene synthases, only a single product, (R)-linalool, is formed. |
