| Comments | The enzyme is a flavin-dependent halogenase that has been described from several bacterial species. It utilizes molecular oxygen to oxidize the FADH2 cofactor, giving C4a-hydroperoxyflavin, which then reacts with chloride to produce a hypochlorite ion.
